Blistered Shishito Peppers

How many of you consider yourself bad cooks? Have you burned too many recipes to count and now find yourself cautious of the kitchen? If these questions have you sweating in self-awareness, fear not! Because this recipe is a no brainer!

In fact, the goal of this recipe is to burn the peppers. Well not completely; blistering the peppers is more like it but with a super hot pan, a handful of these shishito peppers (consistently at the farmers market nowadays), and a bit of salt you’ll have yourself the most delicious summer snack on the planet. Enjoy!

Blistered Shishito Peppers:

2 cups shishito peppers

1 tbsp olive oil


Preheat a wok or a skillet over high heat until smoking hot. Add the oil and the peppers and toss until blistered. Sprinkle with salt and serve. For a touch of sweetness, add a few halved cherry tomatoes to the wok after removing the peppers and toss for 30 seconds. Serve with the peppers.
