Looks like the only cure I needed for the metallogeusia was a weekend away in the Poconos. My good buddy Tim’s Dad has an unbelievable cabin in Lake Harmony that we all agree is pretty magical. Particularly with this snow filled winter, the sights and sounds are amazing and the 13 of us had an unbelievable time. We filled our days with pond hockey, hiking, and hysterics that made for quite a few stories and even more amazing pictures. But at the end of a long day of activity there is nothing better than a blazing fire and a family meal.
And Kelly, Mike and I put together quite a spread. Starting with Kelly’s unbelievable white bean dip (which I am planning on stealing and posting…if she lets me) with some grilled baguette, we had the others pretty amped for dinner. Balsamic and rosemary grilled chicken, Mike’s famous broccoli rabe, a mexican cole slaw, and roasted potatoes came together as a feast to remember. And while the food was amazing, the real fun was cooking in the kitchen. It’s so rare that I get to enjoy that sort of kitchen collaboration and I’d say we make quite the team!
Can’t wait for next time!
