Silver Caterers: Back to School, Back to School…

During my short stint away from the blog, I not only enjoyed my time sharing food with friends and family but I also enjoyed the return of Silver Caterers. This summer has proved to be a slow one for business but as the fall seems inevitable, we’ve already booked a number of parties. So if you are in the mood to entertain and need delicious food and great service, or you’re looking to give the fantastic gift of a private chef for a night, you know who to call…

This party for 40 hard working teachers and administrators at Caley Elementary School was a blast to do. The start of the year has to be an overwhelming prospect for educators and it was an honor to provide a delicious lunch to help take their mind off of what was to come. The menu was pretty similar to some of the other luncheons Silver Caterers has provided. Grilled chicken sandwiches filled with havarti cheese, roasted red peppers, and avocado mayo as well as roasted eggplant, basil, balsamic, and fresh mozzarella sandwiches were paired with a trio of salads. Roasted vegetable panzanella, a simple mixed greens, and my soon to be famous sesame soy pasta salad worked as perfect compliments to the hearty sandwiches. But what is lunch without something sweet. A beautifully arranged tray of cookies including chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry, and peanut butter cookie bars was a great way to finish off the lunch. Sorry the pics are grainy…they were taken from a cell phone.

Good luck with the school year Caley!

The lunch was fantastic! Every dish was unique and flavorful. My personal favorite was the panzanella which I wished I could have taken home to enjoy again that night!! These 40 teachers enjoyed every morsel!

Everything was delicious! Thank you for a job well done. The panzanella was a new dish for me, and quickly became a favorite! You are welcome to cook for Caley anytime! We’ll be your taste testers anytime you have an idea for a new dish too!
